This series of paintings reflect Isabel Wyatt’s love of all things Mid-Century Modern. Inspired by the architecture of the case study houses in Los Angeles from the late 40’s through 60’s, Philip Johnson’s Glass House and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House, she has restored two A. Quincy Jones houses, one an Eichler in Lucas Valley. Isabel has been influenced by the painters of the New York School, particularly the work of the second generation Abstract Expressionists, Cy Twombly and Joan Mitchell. And in music, she says, “It’s still rock and roll for me! “
