For 2014, the six chapters participating in IFDA’s Take a Seat™ event have created an initiative called Helping Heroes at Home. When the comforts of home are one’s business, it seems only natural to help those, who protect and give us the freedom, to live safely in their homes. Together we are donating talent, time and this unique chairs in an effort to raise funds for the Wheelchair Foundation, who support our local veterans and their families. Design Plus Gallery is excited to create two “upcycled” chairs and on one to collaborate with Healing Henna, who like Design Plus is a Yelp favorite. Body artist Robyn Jean is of like mind and spirit and proud to be “helping heroes at home”.
Design Plus Gallery customers are invited to participate and support Take a Seat™. There will be a free exhibition at the San Francisco Design Center Galleria, October 1st through October 15. On October 16, IFDA will conduct an auction at the Janus et Cie showroom, 2 Henry Adams Street, Suite 195. Through the generosity of the event Patrons, our IFDA chapter will contribute the proceeds to the Wheelchair Foundation.
